Still, the fans only learned the names of some of the projects, and their contents weren't fully revealed until the Silent Hill Transmission was broadcast. The return of the Silent Hill franchise has been one of the worst-kept secrets in the industry, thanks to a number of high-profile leaks that have happened over the past year. The last mainline entry in the series that was released was 's Silent Hill: Downpour , and the demise of Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills project seemed to signal the end of the franchise. There have been numerous leaks regarding a new Silent Hill project, as well as a Silent Hill 2 remake project in the works by Bloober Team.
