While testing this spot, I got above 10g per hour with ease. I advise taking at least 12 slot bags all around though, if you are alliance, since the nearest trader is a little way. Arathi Highlands Trolls The trolls in the south-east of the Arathi Highlands are a great alternative. The great part about this spot is, that the traders are very close for both factions. The drop rates are not as good as the Lost Ones in the previous locations, so this might only really be worth it for Alliance players.
Was just there with 2 other guy and got silk cloth in 20 minutes. Not all of them drop silk, but I would say silk cloth drop than half do. Comment by as a death knight with decent pre-icc level tanking gear ive found what i beleive to be the best way to farm this instance, silk cloth drop.
I made this Silk Cloth Farming guide to help out players who want to farm the cloths instead of buying them from the Auction House. I decided to search for places with high density of mobs which I can kill and drop [Silk Cloth]. I traveled around Azeroth, and after a while I made a list of places. Westreach Summin at Thousand Needles is almost the same as New Thalanar, but the mobs are a bit more spread apart. Grimtotem Pillagers are battling with Summit Defenders and they instantly respawn after the number of mobs in the are are getting low, which means you will never run out of them. Note for Alliance players: This place is close to a horde town, so lower level alliance players should not go there, but for higher level alliance players it doesn't really matter as long as you have some kind of AoE ability, you will oneshot mobs anyway. You should only farm here if you oneshot the guards because the guards drop no loot.

Silk Cloth is one of the foundational reagents for Tailoring recipes in the mid-section of WoW Classic. Since the Season of Discovery only allows players to go up to level 25 during its first phase, some of the open-world areas that are rich in Silk Cloth could be a bit tough to traverse. The best general area where Silk Cloth farming is possible is in the Thousand Needles in southern Kalimdor. This zone has plenty of mobs between levels 23 and 29 that are farmable during the first level-banded endgame of the Season of Discovery. We recommend the Galak Scouts and Galak Wranglers in the northern section of the zone around coordinates [49, 41] as they drop the most Silk Cloth consistently.

This spot was much better than Blackhoof Village where I was competing for mobs with 2 other farmers. You can do similar for the armory, although i took it in 2 parts, the training ground gathering them in the center and AoEing them , and the Crusader's Armory, running through and pulling, then AoEing them in the long staright corridor just before Herod. Just to note, at this point my mage was in mostly iLvl gear from heroics. Comment by Thottbot I found that the shadowhides drop silk cloth not sure how often but they are only lvl so they are a great choice for low lvls. You'll also get some mageweave as well. Comment by gahrek Gnomeregan run: 30 min. Mograine will be immune to the freeze, but if you've got Ice Barrier or Icy Veins up, he won't disturb your channeling, and he's easy enough to pick off afterwards. First thing that comes to mind is obviously tailoring, although I already have 2 characters with high level tailoring. Additionally they seemed to drop more cloth I originally started farming this spot for transmog greens which sell for g each plus, but found these mobs drop tons of cloth as well. Money wise, it wasn't too bad. All times are GMT. If you are grouped and do a 5 man run of SM you will have more than likely obtained a Stack or two of this by the end of the run. Need to kill dozens of mobs to even get a few.

My Account. Goblins in the middle of Stranglethorn Vale, and Boulderfist Ogres in the Alterac Mountains, although those farms might be admittedly tough to extract Silk Cloth from effectively without having strong gear or, at the very least, an increased level cap. The spot where mobs consistently dropped more than one piece, but I didn't get a lot of mageweave or wool. I did have cloth scavenging on my mage when I did this. The drop rates are extremely low and there's not many mobs. I've tried other areas, but mobs are too far apart and you spend more time running around from kill to kill. Comment by Zuma Besides being used for bandages and tailoring, Silk Cloth is also handy for personal hygiene. There is a handy picture here I did not create it, just linking. Dont go here!
