Replaced sensor, same problem. P Code. Thread Tools. Received 1 Like on 1 Post.

I was doing some other work at this shop as they were swapping the motor out in this F When they got done they had a p Bank 1 Cam code, This is a complete rebuilt Jasper motor. They double checked everything they had done several times and asked me to look at it. I saw it had new pigtails on the bank 1 and bank 2 cam sensors, they state were there before they got the vehicle. I checked grounds and signals coming out of the sensors, Put my scope on both sensors, and crank sensor. I show up today to do the security for the PCM, and after keys are learned I checked codes and P and P are pending on start up. I start over from scratch.

Most of the time it runs great, but sometimes when you stop the truck the idle will drop down and the truck sounds like it is going to die but so far it hasn't actually died, it starts knocking really badly and runs very rough. If you let it keep running like that it sets P If you rev the truck up it cleans up and sounds fine again and it will even drop back down to a clean idle most of the time. I swapped the cam sensors because it was easy and just to see and it didn't make a difference, I was hoping after switching the sensors the code would switch to the other head but it didn't. Matthew The first capture is from your F and the 5th cam reluctor finger measures 76 degrees The 2nd and the 3rd captures show the 5th cam reluctor fingers should measure near 50 degrees.
