One Turn Kills and First Turn Kills used to be their own unique kind of strategy—you'd have to build an entire deck around a single combo if you wanted to try and win the game in one turn. Today the line between OTK strategies and everything else has gotten pretty blurry, as incredibly powerful Extra Deck monsters have brought at least some OTK potential to almost any deck. Cards like Borrelsword Dragon and Accesscode Talker make closing out duels incredibly easy. OTK and FTK strategies still exist, but they've taken a back seat to 'break my board' type soft locks that effectively achieve the same thing. With enough negation effects, floodgates, and interruption, you can win the duel on your first turn just by keeping your opponent from playing the game. It's hard to suggest a dedicated OTK strategy in today's game, and most FTK combo decks will quickly fold under a barrage of hand traps and interruption effects. Still, that wasn't always the case.
