Tuesday, March 22nd, PM. Elderly customer in 80's. Was sent 2 new X1 boxes without our asking, as Xfinity said our old ones will stop working in April. We are old people with TV's that are 25 years old. They only have cable in, on them. We will never use streaming, or voice command or on demand or record anything. We just want to turn the TV on and get the channels we pay for.

Vertical scrolling through the selected channel is quick and easy. I looked for this functionality in the X1 guide at a friend's house; it's not available with the dark, nearly unreadable X1 guide. Apparently, horizontally scrolling "into the future," was the closest equivalent and was very slow and awkward. I also like setting reminders in legacy service; I couldn't find an equivalent in the X1 guide. It would seem that those who designed the X1 guide don't use it themselves. I cannot get interested in voice-activated remote controllers, even if illuminated, with such a poorly-designed guide. I still have legacy service and don't plan to change to X1.

The X1 really is that bad. I called Xfinity, they said it was "Simple" to set up X1 on an old set. When you change channels, instead of just pressing the channel number once, you have to press enter afterward.
