Noddy first appeared in a book series published between and , illustrated by the Dutch artist Harmsen van der Beek from until his death in , after which the work was continued by Peter Wienk. His investigations lead him to Hoof who admits that he borrowed all the things so that he could feel like a winner. He apologizes to everyone and is rewarded with a special "telling the truth" medal.
