Nagito komaeda

Nagito is a high school student from Hope's Peak Academy, holding the title of " Ultimate Lucky Student " due to his supernatural luck. He is first seen in the game's beginning when meeting the protagonist Hajime Hinata as they and multiple other students find themselves trapped in a series of tropical islands. Initially presenting a caring personality, Nagito shows his true maniacal and hope-obsessed demeanor when a bear-like robot, Monokuma , orders the students to participate in a killing game if they want to leave the islands, with Nagito violently encouraging the killing game's progress. Kazutaka Kodaka created Nagito as a rival to Hajime as well as the successor to the previous Danganronpa protagonist Makoto Naegi with his designs by Rui Komatsuzaki meant to mark him as Hajime's opposite. To reinforce the similarities between Nagito and Makoto, Kodaka had the characters share the same voice actors: Megumi Ogata and Bryce Papenbrook , and their names be anagrams of each other. However, despite the similarities, Nagito and Makoto share no character connections, with Kodaka claiming that the hints were made up to market Goodbye Despair. Critical response to Nagito's character was positive based on his ambiguous nature in Goodbye Despair where he often changes his personality, as well as his more comical take in the anime prequel Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School. Considered a breakout character , his role as a rival to Hajime and antagonist has also resulted in him being considered one of the best characters in the Danganronpa series. Nagito was created to be "an absolute rival" to Hajime Hinata , with Kazutaka Kodaka describing their relationship as similar to that of the Joker to Batman. Komaeda's characterization was aimed to give players a confusing view in regards to Nagito's true self, based on the morally dubious and contradictory actions he committed over the course of the game. To surprise gamers and suggest the characters are potentially the same person, both Makoto and Nagito share the same voice actress, Ogata. His name, "Nagito Komaeda", was conceived as an anagram for "Naegi Makoto da" "I am Makoto Naegi" to infer it as a potential pseudonym ; Nagito claims the name to be an alias during the third chapter. This surprised Ogata, as the anagram had been kept secret from the other members who developed the game, including Ogata herself.

It was explained that Class B will carry the nagito komaeda of being Ultimate Despair, take the blame for the Future Foundation killing game even though none of them were the mastermind of the gamenagito komaeda, and seek atonement for the terrible things they did.

In Chapter 5, after he discovered the horrible truth behind the Neo World Program, Nagito sacrificed himself in order to kill all the Remnants of Despair. Chiaki Nanami, the traitor of the group and the person who was tricked into killing him, was later executed by Monokuma instead. Nagito was born into a rich family, but he was also born with an extraordinary type of luck and thus his life has always been a turn between extreme 'good luck' and extreme 'bad luck'. The earliest known occurrence of this is when his dear pet dog was killed after being hit by a truck. His relationship with his parents is unclear; he mentions that they took him to an amusement park, but he also mentions that his mother never complimented his appearance. However, the plane ended up being hijacked.

He returns once again as the protagonist of the OVA Danganronpa 2. Nagito is a tall, skinny young man with notably wide shoulders, sickly pale skin and light gray-green eyes with thick eyelashes. His hair is shoulder-length and naturally wavy, of an unnaturally pale pinkish off-white color that fades to white the closer to his scalp, and is described as looking like it "doesn't belong to a living person" [5]. In Danganronpa 2 , his hair has a slightly warmer, cream tone to it, but in Danganronpa 3 his hair appears silvery-white with grey tones. By the events of Danganronpa Another Episode, which is several years later, his hair is longer, messier, and darker presumably with dirt.

At a glance, Danganronpa might seem like nothing more than a hyper-stylized visual novel full to the brim with a ton of weird minigames. However, the reality couldn't be further away from the truth — the series features a ton of amazing murder mysteries that are absolutely incredible to unravel and decipher. It helps that the characters in this series have consistently proven to be extremely memorable and engaging in their own right as well. One such character who has been a fan-favorite since his debut is Nagito Komaeda. Danganronpa 's Ultimate Lucky Student is one of the more twisted characters in the entire franchise, with his motives and ideals being a mystery all the way to his untimely end. Here are some unique and interesting facts about his character that most fans weren't aware of. Nagito is not really a healthy child, which is rather ironic given the fact that he's the Ultimate Lucky Student.

The Servant calls the story's situation a game several times, like by calling Komaru a generic game protagonist and mentioning game-balancing and defeating of the final boss. It should be noted that Nagito's strange luck affects his condition as well, seemingly allowing him to live much longer than he should have, and likely giving him unusual symptoms. The official limited art book describes him as "quiet, soft-spoken and effeminate". In Danganronpa 2 , Nagito is seen showing interest in Hajime because he doesn't feel like an Ultimate to him and thus they're more similar and equal in his eyes. They find him annoying for talking too much and because of his habit to misunderstand orders. Similarly, he may not have anything personal against the talentless and he may even like them as people, but still acts quite cold towards them solely because of their lack of talent - in fact, the only one Nagito was genuinely interested in and had any real care for is Hajime, a talentless reserve course student. She claims he made her an adult in a way, as she grew up in the mental sense and became more cynical and apathetic, not really caring about anything. In Danganronpa 3 - Despair Arc , he somehow gained lots of information about Junko and found her secret room. In order to cope with this, he developed a strong faith in hope so that he could find some meaning in his life. His coat has red squares on his right shoulder, and a large red number '55' on the back.

The following sprites are unlocked when Nagito's S-Rank card has been obtained from the in-game MonoMono Machines , and can be seen during certain in-game friendship events.

The aforementioned are just a few examples of the many, many tragic things that happened to Nagito due to his luck. However, Fuyuhiko was also shown to be very worried of Nagito when he almost died from the Despair Disease. Izuru Kamukura possesses the AI version of Junko, which he plans to upload into the program so she can take over their bodies. Believing that he is unable to embody hope, he idolized Hope's Peak Academy and its' students as symbols of hope who are capable of creating "absolute hope" - hope that can overcome any despair. This was most likely a result of both the brainwashing and Nagito's own belief that hope cannot exist without despair. The class then fall silent, with a patterned swirl in their eyes, they have lost all hope and begin to become part of Ultimate Despair. View history Talk 0. Current Wiki.
