Masters of the universe classics castle grayskull

Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull, released in December ofwas quite an achievement in an era when big playsets are becoming rarer and rarer. Some of this influence is no doubt filtered through the cross sell artwork and minicomic depictions by Alfredo Alcala both based on the prototype. These seem to have been removed from the final product due to cost. Want to support the blog?

Merry Christmas, everyone! Not really. OK, technically I opened the box a few days ago and checked out the exterior yesterday, but Christmas Eve is all about peaking, right? Parts in bags, parts in cardboard, parts in other bags stuffed in cardboard. But first…. One is a decorative point for the top of the castle and the other is a carry handle, just like the original playset had. Why would I want to take them off again?

This action figure is part of the Masters of the Universe genre within the Mattel Classics series. Quite a few 50 of these toys are in user collections so it does seem to be somewhat popular. Christmas time brings back my fondest childhood memories of receiving those dream playsets I eagerly awaited all year — the grand toys that only Santa could deliver, like the Micronauts Mega-City or the Star Wars Death Star Playset. This colossal toy, probably the largest I've owned, adorned with magnificent artwork, towers over my other figures, with even He-Man appearing pint-sized in its presence. I've admired the box so much that, despite the lack of a fireplace in my Florida home, I've even considered framing it. As a child, I wasn't able to delve into the Masters of the Universe realm, but the Classics line has since allowed me to indulge in that missed chapter. Castle Grayskull itself is breathtaking, from its rocky foundations to the walls and skull facade suggesting it belongs to someone like Skeletor rather than a noble warrior such as He-Man. The castle's details, like the drawbridge and coat of arms, look incredibly authentic, while the stone and thatched roofing around the back exude an aura of medieval mystique. There's even a secret door and other hidden features that pique my curiosity. While some parts of the playset are merely functional, like the hinge, the attention to detail elsewhere more than makes up for it. The top battlements provide additional display space for figures, regardless of whether I can fully open the castle due to space constraints. The playset's sheer size ensures it's a masterpiece in its own right, and He-Man stands perfectly in front of it, capturing the essence of the franchise. This Christmas, as I prepare to finally open Grayskull, I'm not just reliving childhood glee; I'm also celebrating Matty's successful run with this beloved toy line. It's a bittersweet moment as the end of their tenure approaches, but the joy of this toy remains undiminished. Tomorrow, I'll unveil the full splendor within Grayskull, but for now, Christmas Eve keeps me waiting in anticipation — just like when I was a kid.

Real opening Jawbridge just like you remember… only way cooler because now He-Man fits inside!

The He-Man and the Masters of the Universe franchise debuted in with the creation of American company Mattel and the toyline of the same name. Battle Cat is He-Man's faithful feline companion, an armored tiger who carries him into battle. Both Cringer and Battle Cat are green with orange stripes, but Battle Cat is much larger and more muscular. In the original s series, Cringer speaks and is afraid of just about everything, hence the name. In the series, Cringer occasionally meows like a kitten, but also shows bravery from time to time, including rescuing Prince Adam from falling to his death in Snake Mountain "Council of Evil". Buzz-Off is a humanoid bee , established in the Filmation series as the leader of a tribe of Bee People.

Masters of the universe Classics Castle Grayskull ad. This action figure is part of the Masters of the Universe genre within the Mattel Classics series. The MOTUC team made plenty of mistakes and downright baffling decisions, but they also really knocked it out the park sometimes. Quite a few 50 of these toys are in user collections so it does seem to be somewhat popular. Also down here is this nifty training device. Any information would be most appreciated. Naturally, you have the inside of the jawbridge, which can be opened by sticking a sword in a slot and triggering the mechanism. Just like the vintage toy, this is a two-sided foldout design but there are three levels to show off your MOTUC figures in scale with most of our 6. OK, technically I opened the box a few days ago and checked out the exterior yesterday, but Christmas Eve is all about peaking, right? In fact, I love it so much that I almost feel bad that I waited until it was on clearance to buy it. It's worth noting, however, the greenness of the original Castle Grayskull. While some parts of the playset are merely functional, like the hinge, the attention to detail elsewhere more than makes up for it. Not really. No regrets! That may be never, so for now these pieces are being set aside.

It definitely is. It's very large in person. Maybe not large compared to other Castle Grayskull playsets but definitely larger and more dense so far as building sets go.

That would have been incredible. Unfortunately, when it does work all it does is drop him down a floor and makes him ride the elevator back up again. The prison is definitely a waste of space. It was a pure fan service decision that they could have easily just not done. Sold Auctions. Or have they? The castle's details, like the drawbridge and coat of arms, look incredibly authentic, while the stone and thatched roofing around the back exude an aura of medieval mystique. Share this: Twitter Facebook. This one has a sword behind it. Finally, our last stop on the tour is a mounted laser gun for fending off attacks from Snake Mountain. Anyway, I love this thing! The starburst on the back looks great too.
