Grass-type Pokemon have always felt like the little brother of Pokemon types — they're beloved, but never really considered all that cool or interesting. Out of the original three starting Pokemon in the Kanto region, everyone loved to hate and poke fun at Bulbasaur, since it wasn't featured on a Game Boy game cover in the United States.

Grass types are tied with Rock in having the most weaknesses out of all types with five. A particular asset of Grass types is being the only type that is immune to Leech Seed. Those moves raise both attack stats or the physical Defense stat, respectively, when used. Forest's Curse adds the Grass type to the target's types. Grass-type attacks are resisted by seven types, so they're tied with Bug as the most resisted type. Those resistant types are best covered by Rock and Ground. Dark and Ghost have neutral matchups against every type that resists Grass.

Ash used Mimey in the Battle Frontier Flute Cup, and the two worked together really well, with Mimey easily defeating Hodge's Hariyama before it was switched out for Pikachu. Fans were ultimately left wanting to see more of this fearsome family duo working together. That said, Ash still owned two Ice types at different times during his adventures. His Lapras helped him travel across the Orange Islands before he eventually released it , but it's widely argued that he should have kept it. Ash also ended up with a Glalie while in Hoenn, after his Snorunt evolved. Glalie even ended up becoming one of his main players, helping him through a couple of rounds in the Ever Grande Conference. Meltan appeared to be more of a mascot than an integral part of the team in battle, but then it evolved into the powerful Melmetal.

Deerling Winter Form. VERY scrappy.

Celadon Gym. He had Scraggy and the cool sunglasses-wearing Krookodile while in Unova, but his Greninja was arguably his best Dark type with it becoming a main player in his Kalos team. A column of grass hits the target. Peachy Disappointment. Sceptile, such a fantastic Pokemon. The target is struck with slender, whiplike vines to inflict damage. To deny that Bulba might be capable of the same thing that Sceppy did would be an insult, so for now, I may find them equal. Sawsbuck Winter Form. We might see him in the Unova league and he might show off something awesome like Quilava and Nocktowl, but he might remain sucky like Torkol - it could go both ways. Both Pikachu and Gengar played a crucial role in getting Ash through the Masters Eight Tournament, with him even emerging triumphant in the end. So, what I am saying is that Sceptile is the strongest for the reasons I mentioned, and I picked that item on the poll for that reason, and I ranked the others while showing my reasons for doing so in order to create a basic synopsis of my personal rankings for the other Grass types owned by Ash Ketchum.
