As society changes, our libraries do too. Gone are deschutes public library days when libraries existed solely to supply books and house study groups. Your source for everything related to the Deschutes Public Library bond measure. Voters approved Bond Measure to construct a world-class Central Library as well as double the size and collection of the Redmond Library and remodel and update existing libraries. After six years of planning and meeting with more than 6, community members, Deschutes Public Library is putting vision into action to provide outstanding library spaces and services for decades to come. The bond will fund the design and construction of an approximately ,square-foot Central Library to serve all Deschutes County residents. Bond funds will also pay for doubling the square footage of the Redmond Library and will renovate and update existing libraries in Downtown Bend, East Bend, La Pine, Sisters, and Sunriver. We are eager to continue working with the community as we update and expand buildings and services to ensure that Deschutes County residents have access to the library resources and services needed to keep pace with life in the 21st century. Cardholders can borrow books, DVDs, audiobooks, CDs, and download eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, graphic novels, stream movies, and music. More on Borrowing. The library does not charge overdue fines. Customers will be charged the full replacement cost if items are lost or kept for 21 days past the due date seven days overdue for Hot Titles. Library items may be renewed as long as no holds have been placed on them by other library users.
