Lavi is, at least in my opinion, one of the most complicated characters in all of the D. Gray-Man series. It is hard to tell what is "Lavi" and what is the Bookman side of him. We know next-to-nothing about his past, as well as next-to-nothing on the set-up of his mind and how it works with all the personas he has undertaken. The following is a character analysis on Lavi and what I feel would be appropriate explanations for his behaviour and mannerisms. The following is also only a stab in the dark - most of this has not been officially disregarded nor confirmed in canon. From what we see of Lavi at the start of the manga, he seems quite simple to understand. Lavi gives Allen the offer of going outside for a walk, and the both of them make a snowman whilst chatting a little. When Allen goes all existential and storms off, getting annoyed when Lavi calls him beansprout, Lavi comments on Allen being a brat after all. His expression is serious here, and you begin to wonder what exactly Lavi and Bookman are there for.

Gray-Man and an Exorcist and member of the European Branch of the Black Order , though this affiliation only exists so he and his mentor, Bookman , can record the world history as it unfolds. Lavi belongs to Marian Unit. Lavi is a tall, handsome, and well-built [1] young man with fairly light skin. He has longish, ginger [2] red in anime hair and tends to wear it up in a bandanna, and green almond-shaped slightly downward-slanted eyes.

Gray-man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Katsura Hoshino. Set in an alternate 19th century, it tells the story of a young Allen Walker , who joins an organization of exorcists named the Black Order. They use an ancient substance, Innocence, to combat a man known as the Millennium Earl and his demonic army of Akuma who intend to destroy humanity. Many characters are adapted from Hoshino's previous works and drafts, such as Zone. The series is noted for its dark narrative; Hoshino once rewrote a scene she thought too violent for her young readers. Production of the series was suspended several times due to Hoshino's health problems.
