The Royal Australian Mint has celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Bathurst by launching a special 50 cent coin for next weekend's race. A number of special celebrations and tributes will be made at the Great Race as Bathurst marks its six-decade milestone. A coloured uncirculated 50 sent coin designed by Lydia Ashe has been created. It features six cars, one for each decade, winding across the top of Mount Panorama. The coin is a collectible piece as well as legal tender.
