As I consider myself one of those, I had been eager to visit one of his locations. During our recent visit to the Aga Khan Museum , I finally had my chance when our family was invited to dine at Diwan. The restaurant is located inside the beautiful museum. And oh, what a menu we found! As a restaurant within a museum dedicated to connecting cultures through art, Diwan offers an innovative approach to Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian culinary traditions. At some restaurants, I find myself skipping over every dish until I reluctantly land on the burger or the pizza.

Unfortunately, Diwan seems to fly under the radar on the Toronto food scene and does not have a big presence on social media. Just a short drive north on the DVP from downtown Toronto, the Aga Khan Museum is known not only for its art exhibits, but also for its amazing architecture and beautiful Aga Khan park grounds. And since all bloggers know that food photos usually look a lot better when there are a lot of dishes on the table, we opted to have everything come out at the same time. I loved the couscous with chick peas that it was served on and the pomegranates on top added a nice texture to the dish! We both loved the dumplings and the lamb ragout they were served on, which gave the traditional Turkish dish an unexpected twist! It was grilled to absolute perfection and so, so flavourful!
