I don't believe its bad because Rick isn't in it, I'm sure someone could actually do a funny or interesting episode without Rick being in it, the main problem was that it was just poorly written. Some of his fellow crew members and actors even stated that they continued to grow further apart from him and sometimes didn't even see him at all. Boy was I wrong. I'm putting a 1 star review not because "It's the worst thing ever" but out of fear that future Rick and Morty episodes could end up being like this episode. It's probably one of the most well-written and well-known Rick and Morty fanfictions out there. Who even is the target audience anymore? The beat is strong, the timing skilful and the mad and occasionally trippy effects a surprisingly good match to the show's aesthetic. I really hope the last episodes save this season, they need to be sublime to make up for this disaster of an episode.
