A few years back I painted and subsequently sold an Ultramarines army. I have decided to revisit that project, while this time staying with the aesthetic of second edition of Warhammer 40, I acquired a few miniatures from that period and have stripped them of their previous paint, 90s space marines.

In my buying of used Space Marine lots, I've found myself with a small horde of 90s but post Rogue Trader marines that just don't fit the scale or asethetic of my current Space Marine army. What I want to do is throw them together into an old-school force, something akin to Gitzplitta's epic Mantis Warriors army from a while back. Part of the project's constraints is that I can't use any models made in the 21st century. This is intended to be a small hobby project with the cohesive aesthetic of old-school models and will likely never see a gaming table.
