He does, however, remain proud of the power his monstrous form provides him while still wanting to remain in his normal state as much as possible, and only uses his second form when absolutely necessary. When he does use his second form, he is very proud of its power and becomes overconfident. He tends to become much more brutal when using his monstrous form as he is normally more affable and even-tempered. He is very cunning, vain, resourceful and intelligent, serving as Frieza's intellectual advisor.

Zarbon is a powerful warrior who values beauty and his looks above all else. He first shows up in the Namek saga, and is shown to be one of Frieza's top two henchmen. Little is known about the character other than his pride, and his long history with Vegeta. His long, green braided hair, tiara and earrings might mean he was a high-class prince. He also wears a very long cape as well as leg and arm-warmers. Along with his choice of clothing, he wears the common armor that most of Frieza's men have, including the shoulder pads and a blue scouter.

He is already considerably powerful in his normal state, but his species is able to unlock their true strength by transforming. However, his appearance while transformed is monstrous and ugly, which is why he declines to use it unless absolutely necessary. He arrives on Planet Namek in order to help collect the Dragon Balls so that his leader, the evil tyrant Frieza, can attain immortality.
