Xfinity pixelation

Wednesday, April 5th, AM. For the past month or so, we've had problems with experiencing pixelated, garbled pictures on several TV channels, xfinity pixelation.

Monday, January 16th, PM. Whenever I try to watch a live sport, especially football or hockey, the feed is pixelated. It gets so pixelated that it becomes nauseating to watch. I have checked all my connections, have reset the set-top box numerous times, and have no issues with the stream through the Xfinity Stream app on Roku. I also have replaced the TV and the cable going from the TV down to the splitter in the basement where the cable comes into the house.

Wednesday, August 11th, AM. This happens with both the picture and the sound. Any suggestions? Some other HD channels are experiencing this as well but it seems most are not. Pixelation happens when the signal for the channel you are trying to watch is too weak or has too much noise. Troubleshoot by checking all connectors for corrosion and tightness, and by looking for damaged coax cable. Running the cable through a surge protector, a defective splitter, or too many splitters can cause signal problems as well. If there is an amplifier in the line make sure it's getting power. Ask them to check the account setup and send a refresh signal to the box. If they can't fix the problem remotely, insist they send a tech out to identify the cause and correct it. Does your system look like this constantly? We have worked with the phone support, replaced boxes AND had a technician at our house - he said everything was fine. After we refresh - things work for a little while and then this happens -.

Comcast knows this is an issue and they know it isn't always the signal strength.

Saturday, September 2nd, PM. I have checked connections. Reset the boxes. Changed the HDMI cord. This is not in all channels but it is consuming more channels every day.

Monday, December 4th, PM. I am getting pixelation on seemingly all channels and on all tv's in my house. An error message coded as XRE also appears. After that we might be okay for a second or minute or a day and we go through the same thing again. And of course it happens when we don't want it to! Any suggestions?

Hello, have you done any troubleshooting with your Xfinity App? Modem replaced, TV boxes replaced, multiple resets. Get the test results from the tech. No issues since. I live in the Hockessin area and they did work here also. I have had boxes changed out, box updates, splitters and connectors changed, line to house from pole changed. Please be aware that there are 2 kinds of responses in this Forum: Replies and Comments. Why is it that the only or worst pixelation happens on recorded shows and not on commercials?
