Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Link 's Awakening for Switch walkthrough and guide, which will take you through all the parts of Kolohint Island, from the shores to the Tal Tal Heights, and all of the dungeons along the way.

The battle against the Shadow Nightmare consists of several phases where it transforms into different creatures, some of which come from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The player needs to complete the trading quest in order to receive the Magnifying Lens, which can then be used to read the book with the fine print in the Mabe Village Library. The book has the directions that the player needs to follow when they enter the Wind Fish's Egg and fall into the maze. The directions are unique for every player, so they need to complete the trading quest before they can tackle the end boss. Before taking on the Shadow Nightmare, the player should ensure that they have full health and a full allotment of Magic Powder and arrows. The Shadow Nightmare deals more damage in Hero Mode, but it's forms and patterns remain the same. First Phase - The first Shadow Nightmare takes the form of a black orb with yellow eyes that jumps into the air and dives on Link.

With all eight instruments under our belt, it's time to head for the Wind Fish. You may notice that we've collected every heart piece but we're still missing one container. Let's warp back over to Dampe's Shack and play the Chamber Dungeon one more time to get it. Your task is to now complete all the Three-Shovel difficulty challenges from Dampe. You should have plenty of chambers by now that will make doing this pretty simple. After completing all four, you'll be rewarded with a full Heart Container. Dampe will also open up many new challenges in the Gold Shovel difficulty. You can complete these if you wish, but the only reward for doing so is rupees. Head to Mabe Village one final time. Our destination is the library on the southwest side of town. There is a dark colored book in the bottom-right corner of the library. Read it to find some directions on how to navigate the passagewaays of the egg.

So, the time has finally come to climb Mount Tamaranch and wake the Wind Fish. The key to reading this book is the Magnifying Lens item. If you do not yet have this item, please read the trading sequence recap below and return when you are done. Otherwise, skip ahead to the directions.
