Original Poster. Harry Flashman. Search My Stuff What's New 3 12 24 WiFi Extending Plug Sockets. OP Posts Only. I've had to frequent Screwfix quite often over the last fortnight as I'm building a cabinet and keep running out of things, and while I wait to collect the goods I keep noticing their adverts for WiFi Plug Sockets. Has anyone - other than the reviews on the site - used these yet? What are they like? To me, it seems like the worst type of solution to a wifi extension problem, putting wireless signals next to something that generates EMF interferance? HappyMidget 6, posts months. Put one in at the MiL's house. PositronicRay 26, posts months. I wish I'd come across these before I bought a plug in. Are these just a wifi repeater or do they use the mains cables to transmit the interrnet signal like a pair of power line adaptors, if so you would need the other end to inject the internet signal into the wiring, instructions aren't very clear.

Hi, just joined nowtv moving from talktalk. Nowtv router is clearly not up to the same task as talktalk router as not getting any signal in back part of an average sized 4 bed detached. Been researching what to do and it just seems like a minefield. Especially aftermarket routers with sky's protocol and getting access to usernames and passwords?!! The extenders i've seen dont have great reviews and need a good signal in the first place to work properly, replacement routers - seem expensive and not sure if they would work - mesh seems like an option but no good for outside signal too.
