Whispersync for Voice is a feature that allows you to continue listening to any Audible audiobook across multiple Whispersync for Voice-enabled devices without losing your place. Furthermore, Whispersync for Voice also allows you to switch seamlessly between listening to your audiobooks and reading their companion Kindle eBooks. As long as your Whispersync for Voice-ready device has access to a Wi-Fi connection, the playback position, bookmarks, and notes will be kept across devices without any action required. Note:To sync between listening to the audiobook and reading the Kindle eBook, you must own both the Kindle eBook and matching Audible audiobook, also known as a paired edition. To sync your place in just the audiobook, only a Whispersync for Voice enabled audiobook must be purchased and listened to on Whispersync-enabled devices Audible apps and the Cloud Player. I love audiobooks, and Audible is my favorite way to listen to them. Last fall when I raced through the Outlander books, I switched back and forth between the Kindle and audio versions so I could get through the books faster. But some of the later books stopped at seemingly random one-hour intervals, and it drove me crazy. I could have spent more time reading, instead of searching for my place. I also would have saved a ton of money. Once I figured out how this Whispersync thing worked, I went searching for great deals. Not every book is Whispersync-enabled, and not all of those are good deals. But there are lots of good deals to be found. The first audio companion I bought at a big discount was Pride and Prejudice. Amazon Whispersync for Voice is a fantastic thing for audiobook listeners because it lets you buy audiobooks a lot cheaper than on Audible. Whispersync is a system by Amazon that allows readers to switch between the ebook and audiobook format of the same book. In order to be eligible, the ebook and audio version need to be identical. It syncs your ebook reading progress with the Audible version so you can swap between both formats. For example, if you enjoy reading at night in bed, you can read the ebook in a Kindle app or device.

If your book has a Kindle book version, you can use ACX to produce a digital audiobook version of your book, and to make your book eligible for the new Whispersync for Voice functionality which allows customers to switch seamlessly between reading a Kindle book and listening to the corresponding, professionally narrated audiobook across devices without losing their place. Audiobooks will also be eligible for the new Immersion Reading feature, which allows customers with the new Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD devices to listen to a professionally narrated audiobook from Audible as the text of the corresponding eBook is highlighted on the screen. When customers buy your Kindle book, they will be able to purchase your Whispersync for Voice-ready Audible audiobook at a special limited time discounted price. The basic technical requirement that your audiobook must meet to qualify for Whispersync for Voice is a nearly perfect sync rate between the Kindle and audiobook content. Your audiobook must also be unabridged. Currently, your title must also be written and narrated in English or German. Currently, not all books are enabled for these new features, but the Audible team is working to increase the number of books enabled.

As though I didn't already love my Kindle enough, Amazon comes up with Whispersync for Voice, a feature that speaks loud and clear to those of us who love to listen to our books as much as we love to read them. Those readers with busy work schedules and other responsibilities don't always have the option to read as much as we'd like. We find time when we can to get a few pages in.
