Wendy and axe

Unless someone knows you, which I have. Damian Lewis and Maggie Siff bring to life one of the most intriguing and complex relationships we have ever seen on TV. It is sincere and it is strategic, wendy and axe.

We made it — the time has come for the last ever episode and recap of Billions. It's been a long road, but we're delighted to say that the season finale is just as brilliant as we ever could have imagined. Let's reflect on exactly what happened in Admirals Fund; from the twists and turns to the explosive showdown between two billionaire titans. The opening scene already sets the tone for the rest of the episode. A flashback shows that Sacker actually joined the rebels weeks prior, and Charyn was convinced by Wendy Rhoades Maggie Siff when he realised how much Prince might ruin the world should he become president. Thank goodness, is all we can say. While Prince is going full steam ahead with his presidential campaign, he's unaware that Axe and co — who he thought he'd cornered last episode — are actually working on one final plan to destroy his chances in every way possible.

All of which is entertaining even before you consider some of the uncanny parallels to the real corporate world. One unexpected appeal is that Billions has made my job easier to explain. Well, it has brought performance psychology into the mainstream and showing that performance psychology is very distinct from clinical psychology. You might say a clinical psychologist helps equip us with the skills to be mentally healthy while a performance psychologist helps us with the skills to mentally thrive. I want to be very clear that the techniques of performance psychology are not for everyone. For those suffering depression, anxiety or any other very common mental illness and about half of the population experience mental ill health in their lifetime , the first step is to get mentally healthy. Trying to skip steps and do affirmations or implement high-level positive psychology techniques can end up doing more harm than good. When our mental ducks are in a row however, performance psychology can take you to the next level. Just as we do in the real-world, by applying principles of human behaviour to help Axe and his employees manage their stress, improve self-talk and teach the resilience and apply mental skills to successfully navigate high stakes, high pressure environments to achieve their potential. In short, Wendy has used performance psychology to facilitate peak performance in the workplace. In the THINK chapter of my book, MatchFit , I explore some of the techniques we use in greater depth, but my work with Greg not his real name provides some insight into performance psychology in action:.

Every song in the finale except a piece of one which is scripted.

By Cynthia Littleton. Axelrod, played with gusto until the final frame by Damian Lewis, winds up on top. As is to be expected, the finale features a lot of reflection among key characters on who they are as people — who they have been in the past, and where they are headed in the future. For the grand battle, Axelrod and Rhoades teamed up to help Axelrod exact revenge against Prince for the coup that Prince pulled against Axelrod at the end of Season 5. That forced Axe out of the country and allowed Prince to take over the ashes of Axe Capital. Rhoades wanted to nab Axe for violating the federal rules of high-finance, whereas Axelrod always saw his efforts not in the dim light of insider trading but as going the extra mile to understand the market.

One of Billions ' greatest strengths is how beautifully it sets up all its pieces before knocking them down. This season has been building towards the moment where Axe seems truly trapped, and this episode really delivers on that moment. By the end of the episode, Axe will be looking at potential jail time, but for now, he's desperately looking to get money into his bank before the whole thing is DOA. But that desperation is what will ultimately be his downfall. So, first things first, Axe needs Chuck Sr. Of course, Chuck Sr. Then he goes to the AG and recommends lifting the probationary terms. The AG is confused because his understanding was that this plan was meant to trap Axe in something illegal, but he's more than happy to sign off and get these chaotic people out of his life.

It was the drawing Tanner made of Wendy that triggered Axe to stir the cup in the first place. He also says that if Axe so much as breathes a word to Wendy, she'll suffer consequences that will ruin her entire career. Wendy announces she's staying as CEO of Mental, seeing it as a new challenge after working with Axe for so many years. Would you actually like your soon-to-be-ex-wife interrupt your dinner with a Facetime call? He even gets an attaboy from his ultra wealthy and politically connected father, Chuck Rhoades Sr. He tells her now they are even, both fucked over, and so they can see what is left between them. The risk is that it can go wrong. Chuck Rhoades helps him get his law license reinstated even if Connerty is now otherwise engaged as a chef at a high-end Japanese hibachi restaurant where the Rhoades clan dines in their final scene. That forced Axe out of the country and allowed Prince to take over the ashes of Axe Capital. I think we have seen Axe looking like that only at Bruno before! Suddenly the background music changes to Angel of Death by Slayer, a classic thrash metal band that Axe would approve of.

You can view the Billions Season 7 clip on YouTube below:. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions.

So I hope they keep off the red line but keep dancing around it in Season 7. So Wendy unknowingly drags Bobby into cannabis business. In short, Wendy has used performance psychology to facilitate peak performance in the workplace. It's here we also see the return of Bryan Connerty Toby Leonard Moore who lost his law license in an earlier season and has been working as a chef at a hibachi restaurant. Close the menu deadline-logo-svg. Expand the sub menu What To Watch. Thank you for reading! The seventh and final season of Billions will air weekly on Fridays, only on Stan. On top of that, Wendy has been emotionally distracted since she and Bobby opened their hearts to each other. He even gets an attaboy from his ultra wealthy and politically connected father, Chuck Rhoades Sr. Again, upbeat music. Bobby now knows what Wendy likes about Tanner! Actually, I do have a question. We're shook. For orchestrating it all.
