The unbroken lineage that ties todays practitioners of Celtic and Nordic tattooing to their ancestors can be traced in artifacts, historical records, and myth. In successive waves of invasion the two cultures clashed, mingled, and melded their artistic styles to create ones of vivid and enduring visual power. Although Celtic tattoos for men have been around for a very long time, their popularity has grown in recent times. Many times, people are under the impression, that only knotwork makes up Celtic tattoo designs, which is however not true. It will not be an exaggeration, if it is said that it is a rebirth of the Celtic tattoo designs for men. Sometimes, these Celtic tattoos are classified as tribal tattoos. This can be due to the use of heavy black line work, in these tattoos, however, they are not synonymous with tribal tattoos. Celtic tattoos are not just lines, they have deep symbolism and a rich history behind them.

Viking and Nordic tattoo artists vary in style, but what they have in common is they all use the same symbols— Nordic dragons, runes tattoos, Vikings, and more. We will look closely at what makes these tattoo artists stand out from the others, and what makes them similar. Most Viking and Nordic tattoo artists do large works that fill entire backs, or sleeves that turn into chest tattoos. Gloria uses black ink to create highly detailed designs and artworks for her tattoos. Gloria mainly uses black and grey or just black outlines in her work, occasionally with a brief touch of red.
