The film Black Panther not uru metal brought the kingdom of Wakanda to the big screen, uru metal, audiences also got to learn more about the mythical metal known as vibranium. Audiences also have been following the exploits of Wolverine ever since he made his cinematic debut in the film X-Men.

Uru is highly durable and retains enchantments very well. The appearance of Uru metal ore is in two forms, one as " metallic gold " Gungnir, Stormbreaker and the other as having a luster that has been described as " badly wrought iron " Mjolnir. When Uru is enchanted, it becomes much more durable. Its ductility is unknown. Uru is very resistant to damage, but there is no known instance of Uru being drawn into wire. However, one thing known is that the more magic there is, the stronger it will be. Uru is non-sparking and is a highly immalleable metal, often requiring extreme methods to forge it for example, the heart of a star, or an enchanted forge.

No recent wiki edits to this page. Uru is a substance that is both stone and metal. Nothing less than the heat from a star, or the very forges of Asgard will provide sufficient heat to shape and mold the metal. It is because of this, weapons forged using this metal, especially those that are further enchanted, are highly resilient to damage. The most famous of these is Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Due to its incredible durability and resistance to damage, its ductility is impossible to determine, and it is unknown if Uru can be drawn into wire. It was Tony Stark , who first discovered this metal's natural affinity for magic. It has shown to be capable of storing vast amounts of energy, particularly magical energies. While not easily enchanted, Uru metal absorbs magic like a sponge, redirecting it and enhancing the natural attributes of its wielder. The enchanting process also dramatically increases its durability. Tony Stark's "Thorbuster" Armor, is fueled by Uru.

The Red Skull's daughter was able to summon to Earth several Asgardian hammers that came into possession of both heroes and villains. Thor fought against Fenris and Ulik who were both armed with weapons made from uru, uru metal.

Please take note that most of the information here does not relate to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It made its debut in Fear Itself , and was an armor created by Tony Stark. Its design was based off the Asgardian weapon called the Destroyer. While Tony Stark designed the eight weapons of the Mighty, he apparently did not design this armor per se; it appeared he simply plunged himself, armored-up, into a vat of molten Uru, which was then infused with the divine will of Odin. He emerged with the new armor complete and finished. In appearance, it strongly resembles the Destroyer - the practically invincible mystical armor created by Odin. When the forgotten Asgardian god of fear - Odin's brother and deadly rival, who had been imprisoned for millennia - was released by his reincarnated daughter Skadi, he released seven hammers containing the essences of his generals of old on Earth.

Spider-Man: No Way Home sees Electro get his hands on one of Tony Stark's arc reactors , using it to devastating effect, but Iron Man 2 never explains what new element Tony created for it. Beyond being an essential component needed to generate absurd amounts of energy, the specifics are left uncertain. But there are a couple of possibilities from other parts of the MCU. A major part of the plot revolves around Tony Stark grappling with the grim realization that palladium from the arc reactor in his chest, created during Iron Man to keep him alive, is now slowly killing him.

In the comics, the Infinity Stones are easier to handle and are not as dangerous to make physical contact with. In order to give the heroes a fighting chance, the Avengers turned to Iron Man, who knew a thing or two about constructing weapons. Another uru weapon was Jarnbjorn, the weapon that Thor used before he was worthy enough to wield Mjolnir. When Uru is enchanted, it becomes much more durable. Eventually the heroes were revived and the shield was repaired. However, there have been occasions in which Cap's shield has been broken. It's great when life imitates art, but it's even better when life imitates comic books. As the eight demonic beings rampaged on Earth, Tony Stark - having faced Mokk, the Breaker of Faith - realized more power than humanity possessed was necessary to stop them. The stress he was under was immense, and in order to get the blessing he needed from Odin to give his weapons that magical mystery punch, he had to sacrifice the most important thing he could think of to Odin: his sobriety. Not only is it a strong, light material, it works exceptionally well with magic. You can put an enchantment on any item, but uru handles magic exceptionally well. What do you do with a nugget of metal that has a God Tempest trapped inside of it?

Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off fifteen years ago, the general audience was introduced to many Marvel characters. That explains how these weapons were able to withstand the power of the Infinity Stones since Uru can also retain and absorb magic and enchantments. The alternate answer is that the sword was perhaps made by the Celestials, but in one way or another, we are surely talking about a mystical metal here.

Speaking of Thor, even though he no longer wields Mjolnir, he still keeps uru metal close to him: the prosthetic left arm he wears is made from black uru. In the crossover Original Sin , Thor not only learned he had a long-lost sister, he also became unworthy to hold Mjolnir after Nick Fury whispered to him "Gorr was right. It's hard to imagine Tony Stark without thinking about the Iron Man armor. It resembles stone, but it also appears to have metallic properties. It was a shocking moment that showed not only a dire moment for our heroes, it also let readers know just how darn powerful Cul was. Thor battled for centuries with his trusty Mjolnir at his side, and a big part of that relationship was due to the uru metal that comprised his hammer. The Destroyer used a beam that sliced through Mjolnir, but Thor is able to repair his hammer two issues later, not in Nidavellir but at a Pittsburgh steel mill! We don't recall too many stories of adamantium breaking, but there are a number of stories that highlight Thor's hammer, comprised of uru, shattering on more than one occasion. Although vibranium is strong, it's not known primarily for its strength. He emerged with the new armor complete and finished. Applying a permanent enchantment to Uru is very dangerous and should only be attempted by those of immense power, well versed in both the enchanting and crafting of the metal.
