Students, staff, and off-campus community: are you looking to become more active, try a new sport, form new friendships, or live a healthier lifestyle? Panther Rec offers a variety of sports for you to participate in. We offer league sports as well as sports under pick up format. Every sport is co-ed! You can submit a team into a league, or you can simply sign up as an individual and be placed on a team. If you are submitting a team, please have a team name ready for registration.

Founded in , the enabling legislation is the University Act, R. I The university traces its roots back to , when Lt. Later succeeded by Central Academy, which received a Royal Charter in Dunstan's University and Prince of Wales College , founded in and respectively. Holland College was later created to fill the void left by the merger of Prince of Wales College into the university. Dunstan's University SDU founded in Dunstan's still retains its charter and the lands that were home to Prince of Wales became the campus for Holland College. UPEI is located on the former St. Dunstan's campus. The Confederation Trail runs alongside its eastern boundary.

The friendships and experiences formed in residence will remain with students for life. Life in residence immerses students in campus life, and allows them direct access to social and support programs. UPEI residence is led by two live-in Coordinators who help to oversee and support the students, as well as a team of student Residence Life Advisors who live and work in each building. The UPEI Athletics and Recreation intramural program aims to deliver fair, enjoyable and rewarding recreational opportunities for UPEI students as it is an integral part of campus life, providing relief from the stress of daily academic commitments, improving personal fitness and well-being, and providing an opportunity to make social contacts.
