Presented by Beerus, Shin, and Whis, these three entities recruit Goku and his closest allies to represent their team universe 7 team the tournament as Team Universe 7. There is a lot that we know about this team for those familiar with the story, but here are some things you may not know about the team as a whole.

Tien is one of those classic Dragon Ball characters that initially seems to be a badass, but quickly becomes underpowered. During the original series, he managed to keep up with Goku for the most part. However, when Super Saiyans and fusions became involved, he fell behind and never recovered.

The main timeline version of the character didn't get the chance to cause as many problems. While Krillin has universe 7 team involved in some epic battles throughout the anime, universe 7 team, he's often been more of a comic relief character than a fighter at least after the Namek saga. Gohan then joins Frieza in their fight against Dypso, and sacrifices himself to eliminate the Pride Trooper by having Frieza blast them both.

The Tournament of Power, which was the most inclusive story ever attempted by the Dragon Ball franchise, introduced dozens of new characters, and included several fan-favorites who weren't normally included in the action.
