The Hollin Street project in Blackburn is able to home up to 10 families in self-contained flats for up to two years before long-term housing is found. Ian Bell, head of housing at Twin Valley Homes, which runs the site, said the scheme was vital to ensure families had somewhere to go in times of crisis.
