Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, provides customer service and administrative support. This position focuses on providing services, information, and assistance to the public. Performs intermediate administrative support work performing a variety of office assistance and administrative tasks; does related work as required. This is primarily sedentary work, occasionally requiring movement about the facility, requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work requires reaching, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; on occasion, may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Schedule varies and will include early morning, nights, and weekends to meet facility needs. General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and techniques; general knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; general knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices; general knowledge of word processing including keyboarding skills; general knowledge of customer service; ability to operate standard office, personal computer and related equipment; ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
