Speer leads the reformist faction within the National Socialist German Workers' Party , and believes that the party must reform itself and the country, in order to adapt to the modern age and survive. Speer joined the Nazi Party in and quickly became a member of Adolf Hitler 's inner circle. Speer oversaw the construction of many new structures during the time before the war including the Reich Chancellery and the Zeppelinfeld stadium in Nuremberg where Party rallies were held. During the war he was appointed the Minister of Armaments and War Production, and around that time he began designing the plan for reconstructing Berlin into Germania with huge buildings, wide boulevards, and a reorganized transportation system. Following the war Speer completed his plan for Berlin including the construction of the Volkshalle People's Hall , and was in the process of formulating several other projects when the German economy collapsed. Speer became convinced that this was due to the Reich's excessively authoritarian and isolated nature. Speer began campaigning for the abolishment of slavery, political and economic liberalization, and some concessions to foreign powers to prevent global nuclear war.

Speerism or Reformed National Socialism is a fictional ideology from the Hearts of Iron IV mod The New Order:Last Days of Europe, its a totalitarian, capitalist and fascist ideology that seeks to reform National Socialism from a bloated mess of self-destructive contradictions into a workable ideology while preserving its core. After WW2 and with the waning of Hitler's power and influence over the Nazi Party, Albert Speer would form a faction of reformists who wish to change the structure of nazism in germany so it doesn't fall, after Hitler's death Speer's faction takes up arms and is one of the four factions in the german civil war, if Speer is to win he starts working alongside the Gang of Four to implement his reforms, eventually leading to slave revolt, where Speer is either turned into a puppet of conservatives, democrats or purges the Gang of Four and fully implements his ideological system. Speerism wishes to reform National Socialism by allowing some critique of Hitler to keep the illusion of opposition, removing the bloat from the military, the meticulous racial qualification and the economic autarky, opening up the economy and turning it into a free-market welfare economy for ethnic germans, while still keeping the many racist policies of Hitler, Speer somewhat moderates them by stopping slavery and sending the minorities back to their country to allow more stability into the reich, Speer is also diplomaticly much less isolationist, turning the German Einheitspakt into the Zollverein which is much more market oriented and gives more autonomy, being less of a colonial sphere and more of a economic sphere, Speer attempts to better relations with America, Speer also moves towards creating TNO's version of the United Nations, though with the objective of turning Germany into a more global power. Like the former, the Einheitspakt is a pan-European organization dominated by Germany; like the latter, it is a hegemonic defense alliance led by a totalitarian dictatorship that enforces, with varying degrees of leniency, its ideology upon other members.
