Since moving here I have been able take advantage of the fall release dates for new clubs. The over seeding season had just wrapped up and courses were in pristine condition. Many of you who play Titleist AP2 irons probably don't realise that you a playing with a tour iron, but you are. The AP2 was the number one iron model on Tour globally and therefore Titleist has officially badged the AP2 as a tour iron and placed it in their tour category alongside the MB and CB irons rather than with the similarly named AP1 and AP3. Personally, I feel the AP2 is a traditional staple for Titleist and would have preferred that they stuck with the appearance favored by most loyalists, but the new branding is not quite a deal breaker for me. The sound of the AP2 is still the traditional soft click with a nice thwack from the turf interaction. Mishits have a similar click but a little more emptiness in the tone to let you know you missed the sweet spot.
