One of the paintings is small, and if Mario or Yoshi , Luigi , or Wario in the remake jumps into it, all of his surroundings in Tiny-Huge Island are small. Alternatively, entering the big painting of the course shows the entire island being massive. The main feature of this course is the Shrinker Pipes which are scattered around the course. Entering one will change the size of the course to be tiny or huge.

Step through the painting to the right to enter the level in tiny mode. On the platform with the large Goombas is a small hole in the wall that you can pass through. Run through it and swim across the bit of water past the sandy hill to your left to reach a grassy hill. Run up the hill, past another giant Goomba, until you reach an area with grassy platforms. Long jump over to the first platform. The second platform is further away, but you can simply jump over the gap to have a gust of wind carry you over to the platform along the mountain wall. Cross over the narrow lip to another grassy platform and turn left to run down a bridge with a gust of wind trying to push you off. Fight the wind and jump up the grassy steps. At the top of the steps you'll see large rolling balls come tumbling towards you. Dodge the balls, and as you round the left hand corner, turn left instead of walking past the hole from which the iron balls are falling.
It is also unique in the sense that it can be entered via two different paintings, one small and one large, located to the left and right, respectively, of a central painting, which does nothing. Tiny-Huge Island.

The room with the paintings employs forced perspective , which gives the illusion that all three paintings are the same size, when in actuality, the paintings and halls they are in are respective to the size of the island they lead to. Placed around the island are three special Warp Pipes , called Shrinker Pipes , that adjust the size of the player's character, making him appear to be huge when on the Tiny Island and tiny when on the Huge Island. It is the thirteenth course in the game and is located on the second floor of the castle. This level has many coins , with total, many of which come from Ground Pounding on the big Goombas for one blue coin each. Strategically placed around the island are Warp Pipes that can alter the size on the entire level, a feature reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. All can change in size and be replaced. When in the huge version of the island, two Bubbas are in the water in the DS version, the Bubbas are replaced with Big Berthas , Goombas and Piranha Plants are huge, Koopa the Quick is present, and a cannon is available. The boss of this level is a Wiggler. A unique feature of this level is the option to choose how the level first appears.
