We are two friends, Bryan and Michael, who travel in search of abandoned buildings to explore and photograph. We film our adventures to share with the world. Not a very interesting place by the standards of some of the places we would explore in the coming years, but at the time it was a captivating experience for us. We realized that abandoned places exist in a world isolated from the daily lives of most everyone, only to be experienced by the few who see the merit in taking the risk to enter them. What is that merit exactly? We are secretive about certain locations in order to protect them.

The channel began in and has amassed over , subscribers as of February Provides examples of: Abandoned Area : Of course. It's the main focus of the channel. Angry Guard Dog : They encountered quite a few while exploring some areas in China, though fortunately the dogs were smaller and more of a nuisance than anything. Author Appeal : Bryan and Michael have an interest in mechanical keyboards, and will highlight any they happen to find, especially to comment on the feel of the keys. Author Tract : Some videos venture into this, when the hosts usually Michael express admiration for the artistry of older buildings and disappointment that newer architecture tends to feel "disposable". Berserk Button : Downplayed. Both hosts have a thorough dislike of drop ceilings, especially when they cover up more unique or artistic architecture, and will typically make fun of any examples they encounter. Early-Installment Weirdness : Earlier videos are less stylistically consistent and noticeably not as serious as newer ones. No urban exploration to speak of there at least in the usual sense of the term. Lonely Piano Piece : Some of their videos feature a recurring slow piece of piano music over cinematic shots of the location being explored. Nothing Is Scarier : During one exploration, the duo start to hear footsteps above them. A little unnerving, but they figure it's just scrappers and begin to be more cautious.
I would see all these old buildings and huge decaying factories and be captivated by them, theproperpeople, because it was so different theproperpeople any of the scenery Theproperpeople had growing up in Florida. The channel began in and has amassed oversubscribers as of February

I think if we were just starting out now with the level of quality we had back then, we would go absolutely nowhere, because the niche has become really saturated with content. Get Known if you don't have an account. It's the main focus of the channel. However, over time, we developed our style and skill. We were both engineering majors, so we had a lot of schoolwork, and the YouTube channel was put on the back burner for a while. Bryan : Go! We just wanted something that would be catchy and memorable. Read previous installments of YouTube Millionaires here. I also had a part-time job repairing cell phones. I soon realized that documenting these historic structures was extremely important.

For tracks made by us, including our intro music, you can stream or download if available them on our Soundcloud page. If there is no link in either location, that means that the song was either made by us or we got it from Musicbed , which is a royalty-free music service. Really, though, we should be wearing them more. Bryan : This dark area is where we saw the sensors leading to, so we'll stay out of there for now. Pixellation : The hosts typically don't reveal the locations of the areas they explore, both as a safety precaution for other possibly less-experienced explorers and to not aid anyone with harmful intent, like vandals and arsonists. Not all sites Bryan and Michael visit are endangered. If this can't be avoided solely by not saying the location, they'll blur out any signage or other text that might give it away. B: One of my favorite places to explore was the abandoned mental hospital I mentioned previously. A little unnerving, but they figure it's just scrappers and begin to be more cautious. Tempting Fate : This video features the guys exploring an abandoned power plant, and the camera points at the door to a shadowed room. Aside from the obvious of floors collapsing below you or things falling on your head, the vast majority of these buildings are going to contain asbestos and mold. For one, scrappers like to come in and strip the place of all copper wiring and pipes. So unfortunately we have to say no to these requests. Every year, more and more are demolished, and most people will never get to see what was behind the exterior walls. Once I saw that building, the imposing architecture style was ingrained in my memories.
