The patio also features outdoor heaters to keep diners comfortable on cool summer nights. The Shanty features hand-cut onion rings, homemade clam chowder, homemade tartar sauce and homemade cole slaw, a special family recipe, which have all been essential to our success!

Affectionately dubbed The Shanty, this prime piece of Edgartown real estate consists of two floors to accommodate the ever- present and steady stream of visitors and loyal locals. The main floor is bright and airy with ample seating. An attractive copper bar is always bustling, and an expansive picture window offers unrivaled views of the Edgartown Harbor. The second-floor atmosphere has a more casual vibe. The wraparound deck offers a place to sit and enjoy lunch, dinner, and cocktails. Without question, the view is priceless. But the food is indeed the main event. Its overstuffed and perfectly seasoned Lobster Roll should not be missed. The Lobster Dip and the Lobster Quesadilla, both with their own rich blends of lobster meat and cheeses, scrape the dish clean-worthy. The Fried Shrimp Basket, with more than ample servings of golden fried shrimp, crispy fries, and creamy coleslaw is another favorite. While lunch and dinner cravings tend to change over time, our love affair with dessert—chocolate specifically—never wanes. Cocktail hour is also a moment to savor. Sushi marked gf had tempura in it and edamame was boiled with gluten dumplings even tho marked gf! They also brought GF soy sauce to the table.

Ordered sushi as it was one of the only lunch options marked gluten free. As soon as I finished my meal I got extremely nauseous and had to get up from the table. I informed the waiter and the manager told me that the sushi was prepped in a completely GF area, which could not be true as my mom sitting next to me had gluten on her sushi roll. Would not eat here if you are celiac. Choices were clearly marked. Not too many options but my daughter had a few sushi rolls, which she enjoyed. When she said GF the waiter asked if it was an allergy or not.

Living in the area we've driven by this place so many times and finally stopped in towards the end of the summer. Wow it was so good! Some of the best fried scallops and lobster role I've ever had. Great outdoor seating and plenty of parking. September I have had lobster rolls all over the Cape and this is the best one anywhere. And the size is enormous. Well worth the price they charge. The cole slaw was also excellent and very fresh with a touch of onion in it. The portions are fantastic, but I was not prepared for the perfection that entered my mouth.
