Hunter , formerly known as the Golden Guard , is a major character in The Owl House , initially depicted as an antagonist. He was the right-hand man of Emperor Belos and the former head of the Emperor's Coven. Hunter was presumed to be the nephew of Belos and as such, he was dedicated to his cause of ending all wild magic in the realm, but in reality, he is the latest version of the Golden Guard clones created by Belos to serve him faithfully in his mad quest. After becoming the head of the Emperor's Coven , the Golden Guard acts as the main enforcer for Emperor Belos and antagonist to the residents of the Owl House. However, a chance encounter with Luz Noceda and the meeting of a mysterious palisman named Flapjack , who chooses Hunter as his partner, gives Hunter a new perspective to life outside the Emperor's Coven. This soon culminates with Hunter learning the truth of his origins. Upon this discovery, and realizing he can never go back, Hunter abandons Belos and the Emperor's Coven altogether. Following his desertion, Hunter relocated to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics in order to hide from the emperor's reach. There, he found acquaintances in Hexside's students, and after coming to terms with his identity, Hunter made it his goal to help them stand against Belos' plan to wipe out the Demon Realm. Following the Day of Unity , Hunter and his friends were stranded in the Human Realm and spent the months working away to return to the Demon Realm. Unbeknownst to him and everyone else, a remnant of Belos returned to possess Hunter, who nearly killed Flapjack in the process. However, this gave Hunter the courage to stand up against his uncle, but suffered heavy injuries from the possession. Flapjack sacrificed himself to revive Hunter.

He's also blushed when Willow saved him from falling to his death and flexing her arms.

Hunter , formerly known as the Golden Guard , is a major character in the Disney Channel animated series The Owl House , serving as a cameo character in Season 1, one of the two secondary antagonists alongside Kikimora of Season 2, and one of the two tritagonists alongside King Clawthorne of Season 3. He was originally the right-hand and nephew of Emperor Belos and the leader of the Emperor's Coven. However, during a misadventure in the Emperor's mind, he discovered that he is the latest in a line of Grimwalkers created to replace Belos' dead brother: Caleb Wittebane , that Belos murdered all prior Grimwalkers for "betraying" him, and that the purpose of the Day of Unity is to wipe out all the witches on the Boiling Isles. As a result, he defected from the Emperor's Coven, both because he could no longer morally justify working for Belos and because he knew Belos would murder him if he returned to the castle.

He is just going about certain things wrong. Yet accepting this change takes time, and is often a terrifying thing to comprehend. He spares a palisman whom he bonds with and learns that people can just be good. His heart at the end of the day is what people really attach themselves to, and Hunter has a really complex, layered, and nuanced identity that people really like about him. While Robinson is used to active fandoms thanks to roles in shows like My Hero Academia, Pokemon, and the upcoming Digimon reboot, the rampant enthusiasm behind The Owl House still took him by surprise.

Hoarders darlene

After escaping the mindscape, Hunter tears off his cloak in horror and leaves it on the floor of the Owl House when he runs off. It is currently unknown if he is aware that the Selkidomus Luz and Eda killed was merely a decoy. His yelling is also synched with Luz's mouth. He and the students and staff of Hexside fight the Emperor's Coven and he speaks to Gus after he creates a sphere that traps Adrian and a few scouts in their worst memories and gets Gus to dispel it. In "Labyrinth Runners", he couldn't even fight off two scouts from the Emperor's Coven despite being their former second-in-command. Slowly forming bonds with Flapjack, Luz, Willow, Gus, Amity, and others has him gradually lose each of these toxic traits. He's later revealed to be a Grimwalker and Hunter explains he is either a witch or a human, but doesn't know. He has also at some point carved a Blue Jay named Waffle as his new staff. Despite Hunter's initial betrayal, Willow is shown to have forgiven him and still consider him her friend, looking forward to his next day off. She helps him regain his confidence by wearing an owl mask.

Hunter is so precious. He still wants to play the villain, trying in vain to act threatening to Luz and friends while furthering the agenda of Emperor Belos. Watching characters like Zuko, Catra , Lilith , and so many others in the stories we love begin as villains before slowly coming to terms with their own destiny and changing sides is a slice of poetic brilliance that never gets old.

In the charity livestream, he recalls learning his Palisman's name is Flapjack, though as he has no idea what that means, he asked Belos who told him it means 'pancake', which wasn't any more helpful as Hunter still doesn't know what that is. The problem is we finally get a canon WLW relationship in a Disney show but people would rather ship Luz with a man. Start a Wiki. Near the end of "Any Sport In A Storm", he very briefly blushes after Willow indicates that she still wants him to play Flyer Derby with the Emerald Entrails despite him trying to kidnap them. Even though he does not fully trust the human, the Golden Guard leaves his cloak as bait for the dragon while he and Luz escape to Latissa. Season 3. This one comes with more hyperventilating and pacing while he babbles about needing to find a place to hide, before he curls up in the Troubled Fetal Position and starts pulling on his own hair. He soon helps her up after the airship crashes and later protects her from debris while everyone is fighting Belos. It's later revealed in the same episode that the Golden Guards are all Grimwalkers, meaning they're all clones. However, underneath it turns out he's actually a decent guy and his more villainous behavior is the result of him desperately trying to please Belos, who deliberately raised Hunter to believe he must prove himself worthy of being loved. He easily defeats her and sees Luz leave with the palismen. However, unlike Rei, who is an important catalyst for the Big Bad 's ultimate plan, Hunter is nothing more than a side project for Belos to do in his spare time, unneeded for the Day of Unity in the long run.
