I grew up in the Waukon area. I now live 3 hours away. Every chance we get, we come back just to have the best Friday night fish fry. I have never had anything better! The Old Rossville Store is definitely worth the drive! Had the BEST prepared prime rib ever. Hands down. Could cut the meat with a fork. And the extra shrimp add-on was just as incredible-- three huge pawn-like shrimp in a tasty beer batter, deep fried fresh and perfect. For anyone expecting an 'intimate,' snooty This is a real local restaurant serving real food to real people. Room with the salad bar was full of mostly seed-corn-hat wearing people You won't find here any nickel millionaires stepping off their over-mortgaged yacht on the Mississippi River Wife and I each had prime rib, I added the shrimp, and had an adult beverage.

However the salad dressing unfortunately is not. The chop itself is char grilled, thick and juicy, but does not have an overwhelmingly oinky flavor.
