This article contains lore based on real-life sources from Norse Mythology as introduced from the God of War Norse Era. Famed for their architectural skills, renowned blacksmiths and outstanding builders, the Dwarves also display unparalleled business and financial accumen, meticulously exploiting their virtually unlimited resources in perfect symbiosis with their homeworld. Thanks to their wise management, it is safe to assume that Svartalfheim thrives much better than any other realm. The warm and wet environement of Svartalfheim as well as its particular geology greatly favored the development of Dwarven infrastructures all around the realm, which in turn facilitated the establishement of numerous workshops and pitmines, from where the Dwarves extracted their high quality ore. Displaying an unparalleled talent in architecture, they built exquisite houses that gradually gave birth to small and reclusive communities. Traditionally associated with smithy and weaponry, Svartalfheim is also the richest realm in minerals and natural resources, making it the financial heart of the Norse realms.

This makes posting guides — and screenshots — a bit tricky. When you leave the realm gate, before you get into the boat, walk to your left. Throw your ax at it. The first Artifact — a part of the Things Left Behind collection — is on the first island in the Aurvangar Wetlands, just before the water wheel. When you get out on the island, freeze the geyser with your ax and cross over to the other side. Turn around, recall your ax, and freeze the geyser next to the one you just crossed. Jump up there and walk over to the dead dwarf. Pick up the Artifact sitting next to him. The first Nornir Chest is on the same island as the Artifact above — just before the water wheel in the Aurvangar Wetlands. Use your ax to freeze the geyser and jump across to the other side. Turn right and jump across a small river to reach the chest.

Svartalfheim is one of the Nine Realms you can visit in God of War Ragnarok, and contains a vast amount of regions you can explore during your adventures. It is one of the first realms you can visit during the main quest, and also holds many optional side areas to explore. This page contains an overview of all of Svartalfheim's regions, including collectible locations, side quests, secrets, and optional boss fights in the realm. Many regions in Svartalfheim cannot be fully completed until you return later in the game. Svartalfheim is the land of the Dwarves, where Brok and Sindri originally hail from. The Prose Edda, a collection of Norse legends from 13th century Iceland, details the cosmology of the Norse people. They believed that there were Nine Worlds, each of which was the home of a different race of beings. One of the Nine Worlds was Svartalfheim. While the concept of light and dark elves is popular in modern fantasy, however, the descriptions of Svartalfheim and its residents in the few surviving stories set there do not seem to align with our concept of elves.

Use the Leviathan Axe to freeze the water spout. While the Dwarves effectively chose the first option, they would forfeit their independence in the process, a fact well acknowledged by both sides. If you have opened up the puzzle bypass route, then an earthquake will have knocked down some debris that prevents you from doing the puzzle again. The Yggdrasil Rift at the Dragon Beach is on the end of the huge wooden walkway that stretches across the middle of the beach. Pick up the Artifact in the rubble to get another Things Left Behind treasure. As they try to pick up a boat on the shore, they are ambushed by a cohort of Wretches, which are quickly killed. The only Artifact in Jarnsmida Pitmines is found in the opening area where you first arrived on the crashed minecart. Before pulling on the chain to progress the story, walk forward immediately from where you used the elevator to reach a wooden table. The third and final bell is to the right of the second. The Dwarf took the bow of Atreus and improved it once more with the Sonic arrows, allowing the young man to make use of the Sonic vibrations found here and there to open up new ways.
