Barstool Sports is an American blog website and digital media company headquartered in New York City that publishes sports journalism and pop culture -related content. It is owned by David Portnoy , who founded the company in in Milton, Massachusetts. Barstool began in as a weekly print publication distributed for free at transit stops in the Boston metropolitan area that offered gambling advertisements and fantasy sports projections, but later expanded to encompass other topics. It launched on the Internet in Portnoy hired Kevin Clancy in and launched Barstool New York, the blog's first major move outside the Boston area.

Preface: With the next season of Surviving Barstool being filmed around the office this week, it only feels right to resurface a blog I wrote at my previous job. It's pretty full circle, I wanted to work at Barstool and be on this show SO bad and now I'm one of the eight contestants on season two. There's a word for this, but I can't seem to put my finger on it. That being said, we the people have been longing for a show that everyone can collectively agree to watch. Until now. With only eight contestants, six days of filming and literal days to edit, they produced the best reality show this nation has seen in a long time.

Last year season 1 was one of those perfect moments of Barstool Serendipity where what started out as a sponsored video series caught fire and turned into our first ever TV show-type content. All because there was a tiebreaker vote cast by Brianna Chickenfry, who blew up from "that party girl on Tik Tok" into a household name at Barstool Sports. We had White Sox Dave blacked out in a cowboy hat wandering around the streets of Manhattan claiming to be sleepwalking Kelly Keegs made her debut as a reality star, a role she was born to play Every night we had hundreds of thousands of views, including 50, concurrent viewers for the S1 finale.
