While there, Laura's new friend and co-worker Glenda Moritz takes note of Richard's infatuation with her, but he becomes offended when he observes them looking toward him laughing. Through an excuse of wanting to present a staff birthday celebration for Laura, Richard is permitted by a coworker to see her personal dossier, including her birthday and address. He later shows up at her apartment with a gift. When her roommate urges she inform KEI management of the apparent stalking, Laura insists that she can handle Richard alone. The next day, Laura finds her car tires slashed at her doorstep. She notifies the police but Richard later confronts Laura on her suspicions.
