A few notable settlements dot the landscape including Ivarstead , Nimalten , and Geirmund's Hall. This pass connects Nimalten to Helgen. The Smokefrost Peaks is the warmest region in the Rift. This has to do with its proximity to the volcanic mountain of Trolhetta and the Velothi Mountains.
