Skies of arcadia remake
Log in. Top Bottom.
Provided that this is accurate, this is news that will make a lot of people happy. Skies of Arcadia originally released for Dreamcast in , where it was critically acclaimed but limited in its potential audience by virtue of being a Dreamcast game. But the game has been completely AWOL for the two decades since, meaning entire generations of RPG enthusiasts have been unable to play it legally. Many of the people who have actually played Skies of Arcadia hail it as one of the all-time great RPGs, and it comes from the late Rieko Kodama, a major creative force at Sega who only passed away last May. She was also an important driving force of the Phantasy Star series. It would be nice, albeit belated, if Sega could honor Kodama by bringing Skies of Arcadia back for a remaster on modern platforms. There is no word about potential release window or targeted platforms.

The hawt rumor of the day. Allegedly a Skies of Arcadia Remaster is in the works. Normally I wouldn't bite on most uncorroborated rumors, but I do love this game. So I hope the rumors are true. Edited on Wed 29th March, by Magician. Switch Physical Collection - 1, games as of March 4th, Favorite Quote: "Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age the child is grown, and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies. Vincent Millay. I sincerely hope the rumor is legit! I've always wanted to play Skies of Arcadia "Eternal Arcadia" in Japan, if I remember right , so much so that last year I retro-purchased the Legends version for my old Japanese Gamecube. But all that work! A remaster release on the Switch would be preferable by far. I have my fingers crossed for fans of the game! I have never played the game nor seen anything about it, and even I would like to see this game get the remastered treatment.
Still the best game of all time.
This one wears its Skies of Arcadia inspirations proudly on its wing still waiting for that Switch remake, by the way. You take on the role of Glenn Windwalker fantastic name , the captain of a group of sky pirates who jets off on the adventure of a lifetime. There are various islands to explore both on the ground and in the sky as you go about recruiting your crew and catering to their individual strengths to achieve the best results in battle. It looks like these battles take place in strategic turn-based dogfights, where you can either choose to head into combat and fire at your enemies or take the time to evade incoming attacks. From the little that we have seen in the above announcement teaser, this mode of combat certainly looks like an interesting way of handling airborne battles and we are excited to see more. SEGA themselves have not commented on the rumour or provided any indication that they are working on the project. However, it should be noted that the company has said a number of times that they are looking to revitalise some of their extensive IPs from the classic retro vaults. Seems like they are staying true to the point on what they said. Now it seems like a remaster for this game is already happening. The only thing not cool about it was the encounter rate, and the slow speed of battles sometimes. Everything else was top notch, a real light hearted adventure romp.

It's one of the few games ever created that manage to completely immerse players into its world and had them live through a breathtaking adventure. It mixes heavy and comedic themes, lovable characters, exciting storytelling, and a gorgeous atmosphere. It's a perfectly unique game, typical of the Sega Dreamcast era. Yes, this is the same uniqueness that doomed the console. While some claim Skies of Arcadia didn't age well, like with how slow the battles can feel at times, I think I could spend a day explaining why is it so good. I've personally always wished to see a new game in its fascinating world, and obviously some of its developers share this sentiment. Kenji Hiruta, who worked on Skies of Arcadia, mentioned on Twitter recently that he strongly wishes to make a sequel. As you probably already know, seeing only desperate and thirsty Skies of Arcadia fans would click on this article, Skies of Arcadia first released on October 5, on the Dreamcast in Japan, under the title Eternal Arcadia.

LewieP Member. Shiro28 That depends. Would definitely love to play a remaster of it especially if they did it as a multi platform game so no one misses out. I remember getting the GCN version, and enjoying it but the random battles were friggin excesive. And yeah, it's wild people are complaining about the Gamecube version's random encounter rate because the Dreamcast original was worse in that regard. Published: Mar 28, pm. May 25, 2, I feel like I'd need a remaster on a portable so I could hammer through random battles while watching tv. John Friscia. It may not display this or other websites correctly. The insider claims to have seen screenshots of this alleged remaster, thereby confirming to him that a reinvigorated version of the title is currently in the works.
Gameplay: The Gamecube version reduced the random enemy rate encounter and rebalanced the experience rewards to make the game less grindish. You are using an out of date browser. Isn't the GCN encounter rate reduced from the Dreamcast version lol. Ugh, another cheap-looking rip-off posing as an "homage". It's a trope-filled Sky Pirate adventure, but it's all by design. This category might be a tie.
