I've been playing with the Doctor Career recently, and have become increasingly frustrated with it. It seemed almost impossible to correctly diagnose a sim as the results were almost never narrowed down to one, and any guides on the diseases I found online offered incomplete or even outright incorrect information. After another diagnosis failed, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started a new file, joined the doctor career, got out a pen and paper, and got to work. I placed her on the Oakenstead lot using freerealestate. I used testingcheats on to max out her Doctor career and Logic skill and give her enough aspiration points to purchase mood based rewards Never Weary, Steel Bladder, etc. These were the only rewards I purchased. The Doctor career is one of the most challenging occupations in The Sims 4. Players with the Get To Work will get to enjoy this active career, where you can join your Sims for a day of work and actually control what happens. Beware, though: being a doctor is anything but easy. As a doctor, a Sim must accurately diagnose patients' sicknesses. There are eight illnesses, from mild to deadly, which the Sim must know about. If they get it wrong, their job performance will be severely affected, thus threatening their future not to mention patient lives.

In this Career, you will start with janitorial duties, interruption of actual Doctors with socials , and patient relations and proceed to being able to run your own tests and diagnose patients. As you go forward, the Career gets more defined although menial tasks will still pop up as objectives. You will eventually be able to perform surgeries and deliver Sim Babies as you advance, while your Sim will also have a clearer picture of what is wrong with the patient as they progress. The Ideal Mood for this Career is Focused , though it only helps to raise your Sim's work performance bar and does not factor into diagnosing patients. This is best done by using 'Ponder Moves' on a chess table before work or using Browse Simpedia at a computer. This helps a lot.
