I have been using Batocera recently and I have to say it works great. Unfortunately I have a problem with the Saturn emulator. When I try to start a game, the screen goes black and there is nothing I can do. The only option is to restart the Raspberry Pi 4. It worked with other distributions.

I have some roms in sega saturn I use the emulator lr-yabause, the lr-beetle-saturn doesn't work When i start one rom, it loads the Sega Saturn Menu, where there a lot of options. Anyone knows what can i do? I really don't thing that the ROM's are broken or something. Source of all this info: this Reddit post. The thing is that happends with all my roms. These complications can be seen in the Saturn version of Tomb Raider [5]. Hello everybody, I have been using Batocera recently and I have to say it works great. Input latency will be a crucial factor, but its impact likely sega saturn batocera depending on the specific technique employed, it's recommended to use after applying the "Internal Framerate Hack".
I have the correct bios and can boot the game with no problem, but framerate is quite unstable, both with Mednafen Saturn and Yabause too. I know that Saturn emulation is not as good as other most popular gaming systems, but I doubt it has trouble to run this game at full speed, am I right? Am i doing something wrong with my configurations? Both Yabause and Mednafen Saturn runs the game at equally slow speed… Any advice would be appreciated, thanks! What kind of CPU do you have?
All major controllers are supported by Batocera. EmulationStation uses an internal database so that most of them work out of the box, no configuration required. For controllers not in this database yet, Batocera will prompt you to manually map its buttons. Some controllers may have particular instructions to follow to get them to connect to Batocera in the first place, especially wireless ones. Said instructions are included below. Any generic USB controller should work. There is no special action to do to make it work, except to map it if it is not in our database already. If having trouble with getting it detected, refer to the USB section on the joystick troubleshooting page. Any generic Bluetooth controller should work. In older versions of Batocera, this action will forget all known Bluetooth controllers!

What is happening is that in the middle of the gameplay depending on what action I do, the background starts to produce artifacts. If I create a savestate while artifacts are being shown, the game is ruined, as loading the savestate will bring back the artifacts all the time, but if I save normally I can exit retroarch and load the game without artifacts again. I tested same RetroArch version installed from source in a Linux x86 mini PC I have with the same yabasanshiro version 3. Is there anyone with this same issue? I repeat, it only seems to happen on RPi4, but maybe there is something to configurate for it to disappear. Turns out that the option provoking the weird artifacts was the threaded video. Disabling it worked as a charm. This site is best viewed in a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. Something went wrong while trying to load the full version of this site.

I am attempting to install lr-yabasanshiro on my Pi4 using the script and diff file located here. I guess Yabause needs a similar configuration then? Implementing frame generation technology in an emulator is unfortunately quite challenging and unlikely to be feasible in the near future, however post-processing techniques such as motion interpolation is quite possible. Your OP is a bit unclear. The Saturn is considered one of the more complicated consoles to both program for by developers and to properly emulate.
The Sega Saturn is fifth generation home console developed by Sega. The Saturn's hardware borrows many components from the Sega Titan Video arcade system. The Saturn is considered one of the more complicated consoles to both program for by developers and to properly emulate.
Third-party development was initially hindered by the lack of useful software libraries and development tools, requiring developers to write in assembly language to achieve good performance. This topic has been deleted. There might be edge cases where those changes unexpectedly improved the performance instead, but overall between that and the overhead induced by libretro on gl-rendered cores, standalone will be way faster.
