I made it to Sofia, no thanks to a last-minute booking that took me through Beograd.
The restaurant is relatively new and not very popular among locals yet, but once there, it will capture your heart with fantastic gastronomic experience. While there we started with terrine of smoked cheese and remoulade with smoked salmon, continued with boneless stuffed quails Birds of Love and beef bon fillet and foie gras Beef Mille-Feuille. All the dishes were beautifully presented, intricate and delicious. The restaurant is one of the few in the area to offer a tasting menu of 15 courses. The service, on the other hand, is expectedly outstanding. Secret by Chef Petrov boasts an excellent location in the heart of Sofia. Until recently it was situated within a few-minute walk from the House of Parliament and all the other landmarks of Sofia.

The entrance to Secret Chef Table, a restaurant that serves 22 dishes in a modern chef's table service, is located on an ordinary street in Sofia, Bulgaria between a charity shop and a clothing shop. At the end of the evening, both the photographer and I hope it was not the last time we will enter through that narrow door. A true experience for the senses. Boris is eccentric, lively and very engaged when talking about his journey into the culinary universe. His career started when he was 14, growing up in communist Bulgaria. At first, I burned the food, but I eventually figured it out". His cooking skills meant that Boris's friends would often stop by, and he really began experimenting. I was then like, 'Wow, I can actually cook. Dishes with history and surprises.
For the number of items, I did not feel overly full at all.

I made it to Sofia, no thanks to a last-minute booking that took me through Beograd. Then a tiny, rickety flight later we arrive in Bulgaria…. This whole leg is starting off very bad, and it got worse. But then the night got very nasty. Needless to say my short Sofia trip was essentially ruined, as I spent most of the one full day I had in town dealing with the crap that comes with having a phone stolen. Thank goodness I always carry my back-up device with me; it worked as a wifi device but had no aerial service until I get my hands on a new Simcard. Yet I tried to make the best of it. How had I never have heard of a place like this in Sofia? I relaxed at the counter, taking the first space to make it easier for everyone. And by the way, from this point on for the rest of the trip, I unfortunately have to reply on said back-up device Galaxy S-5 for photos.

The old regime did not like change and did not want any creativity in the population. Experience the capital Book the Metropolitan Hotel Sofia and enjoy cozy rooms and inviting dining options.
