Sans is in many ways a direct opposite to his twin brother, Papyrus. His twin brother Papyrus is taller than him. For one, Sans is extremely intelligent, perhaps even more than his father Wing Ding Gaster , the skeleton that created him and Papyrus. Sans is a quick study, and was reading at nearly a college level before he was a year old. However, due to his quick learning ability, he can become bored if his mind is not sufficiently stimulated.

We all know of the mysterious WD Gaster, presumed to be the mysterious figure encountered in Waterfall, but what if we have had the identity wrong the entire time? There is an obvious connection between Gaster and Sans either way, with some speculating he is the father of Sans and Papyrus. But what if this connection is closer than we imagined? There are small bits of what we shall call evidence to support my theory. The first being the research. Papyrus acknowledges that Sans, like Gaster, can "prank you with time and space". He also has a deep scientific background and uses the Gaster Blaster in genocide runs.

Gaster was the Royal Scientist before Alphys , and was stated to have irreplaceable brilliance. During normal gameplay, W. Gaster is typically unmentioned. In particular, Gaster's Followers relay Gaster's implied fate. One iteration says that he "fell into his creation," the second states that "his experiments went wrong," and the third claims he "shattered across time and space. Gaster's dialogue uses a unique typeface, named Wingdings. Gaster does not have an officially known form, but there are several rooms and unused assets found in Waterfall that point to what he may have looked like. Of all the mysteries in Undertale , the most prevalent one with minor information is that of W. Everyone who took part in the discussion around Undertale in probably has a vague idea of him, but not everything in concrete detail. Gaster likely stands for Wing Dings and Aster, both being fonts.
