The Scotsman is the tritagonist of the animated series Samurai Jack, temporarily serving as the titular protagonist of the season 4 two-parter 'The scotsman saves Jack'. He is the ally and best friend of the titular character. The Scotsman is portrayed as being a foil for the samurai in both physical appearance, personality and marital training, although just as skilled and determined to cause trouble for the story's villain, Aku. Despite his extreme ways of finishing off his opponents and actually wanting to get into fights, The Scotsman is on the good side and helps Jack whenever he needs it. In this episode, Jack must help The Scotsman save his wife from demonic robots. The Scotsman needs Jack 's help in rescuing his kidnapped wife from the Castle of Boon. The episode begins with a glimpse of a wanted poster of Jack , being the most wanted man in the future, who happens to be eating noodles in a tavern full of bounty hunters. After the bounty hunters confirm Jack's identity from the poster, they begin to attack him. Fortunately for Jack, The Scotsman arrives, blowing up the tavern with the bounty hunters still inside. Once outside, the Scotsman explains he tracked down Jack to ask him for help. A clan of Celtic demons has kidnapped his beloved wife and the Scotsman is forbidden by ancient tradition to be aided by his clan members. The only loophole allows the Scotsman to seek aid from a stranger, and in his words, Jack is "the strangest man [he knows]. The two friends travel to the Highlands, where Jack is introduced to the Scotsman's clan, including the clan's Druid. After passing a test of strength through unconventional means , Jack and the Scotsman are allowed to go rescue his wife.
