Google officially announced the stable version of Android 13 last month and uploaded the source code to AOSP.

My phone is a 6 year old Galaxy S8. It has cracks in every corner of the screen glass. It still works just fine, and these days I use my phone less than ever before, thanks to my path of digital minimalism, so I don't really mind. But a few things about it did bother me. It ran a tad slow and Samsung only updated it up to Android 9.

However, one of the downsides of the Samsung S8 is that it does not run the Stock version of Android. TouchWiz is the smartphone OS designed specifically by Samsung for its devices. Besides the features of Nougat, TouchWiz also comes with a lot of additional features and apps. However, these are not always useful and sometimes carrier specific Samsung devices come with pre installed apps and bloatware. Custom ROMs are created by developers and are based on the stock version of Android. Unlike TouchWiz, these do not come with bloatware and you can customize and modify them based on your preference. Some of the customization options include Clock position change, adding RAM bar in recents menu etc. It is currently running on the latest version of Android Nougat along with the latest security patch updates. Some of the interesting features of Nemesis ROM include call recording button in dialer, bloatware and unnecessary apps removed and floating message notifications.
