On a hot summer afternoon that July 4th always is, this shoot is just that. Pure Americana inspiration.

When I was a young child, even the sight of a feather from a pillow sent me into screaming fits. But even though this phobia has limited my ability to enjoy avian encounters which, at close quarters leave me decidedly ruffled, it has certainly not stopped me from taking pictures. Thanks, Marianne! I feel like the larger birds are so much easier to capture with the camera. A lot less fluttering about. My mum used to be scared of birds. It was only when she went on holiday somewhere and had to choose between tolerating birds and having no breakfast that she got more used to them.
