Extreme trail with very rough surface, and may have very steep hills, arduous rock hopping or rock scrambling.
Set in the rugged landscape of the John Forrest National Park, the Rocky Pool is a well-known swimming and hiking hotspot. Formed by the Jane Brook, a series of pools sit along the river and are fed by small rapids and not spring-fed. A hotspot for locals, the Rocky Pool is gaining attention as more international tourists have begun to frequent the area. Much more than a local swimming waterhole, the area around the Rocky Pool is great for hiking, picnicking, and birdwatching. The Rocky Pool is actually a series of small pools that are formed along the Jane Brook. A small current brings water into the pool, where it slowly trickles out and down the brook.

A gentle cascade at the beginning of the pool works as a therapeutic massage where visitors can relax after the long trek. With the cascade constantly bringing fresh water into the clay pit, temperatures of the Rocky Pool can fluctuate. However, the water temperature is not too cold and previous visitors often state that the swimming hole is the perfect temperature for cooling off after completing the Rocky Pool Walk. The Rocky Pool is open year-round. However, visitors should note that from November to May, the pool is often dry due to the sun and extreme heat.
