So at the risk of stating the obvious, are you sure that the polarity of the batteries matches the symbols in the compartment? Was it also dead with the original batteries or just losing charge? If the latter you could try a set of regular AA batteries just as a quick test to see if it powers up. It's possible that one of the Duracells has a very low capacity that can't power the phone but can power a less demanding device. I've just checked the batteries in mine and they're mA, perhaps mA batteries either don't have enough juice in them for the phone to start up or the phones battery monitor circuit sees the 50mA shortfall as a battery fault?? You were correct, I put normal aaa Duracell batteries, and the phones power up fine. However, the original batteries that I took out from the phones from new handsets were mAH hence o ordered the same ones. The only difference was the brand. What do you suggest? It's highly unlikely that a mere 50mA capacity would stop them powering up, especially if the originals were mA.
