So im lv36 in an xbox pvp server, tribe of 5 and thinking about taming a pack of raptors, about 4 or 5 of them for hunting. I really want to do this but Im unsure though because of a few things:. Their AoE will actually aggro a nearby animal lets say a Trike when they're targeting a phiomia and the trike will end up killing my tames? Yes, if you take out a group of animals on your own, you will at times swear your head off because one or several managed to get caught behind something who knows where, but they're also surrpisingly lethal in a pack. I can't speak for low levels, but if you have several mateboosted higher level animals, no trike would be of any concern. An alternative pack would be pteras. The kibble is fairly easy and cheap, the birds are everywhere, and they're even more lethal than raptors, less likely to get stuck, and they can retreat as fast as you can whistle "passive all.

There are many ways to get defeated in Ark: Survival Ascended , but getting hit by a dinosaur until your health bar drains is the most common one. If you've played the game for a while, you've most likely been ganged up on by a group of Raptors who continuously chomp on you with higher running speed as well. They're one of the most intimidating enemies you'll encounter during the early game, but that also makes them one of the best tames in the game. After getting a good-level Raptor, you can easily win most of the combat scenarios you'll find yourself in. If you want to get yourself one of these violent creatures, you'll first have to figure out a strategy to knock it out. Once you have enough Tranq Arrows to make one unconscious, you can use one of the following methods to make the process easier:. The dinosaur AI in Ark: Survival Ascended is quite good, and they're programmed to avoid falling into these traps. To make this work, you have to step on top of the ramp and then jump into the trap once the dinosaur comes near you. If you want to avoid using the ramp altogether, you can also pick the Raptor up with an Argentavis and simply drop it in the structure. Once you have the Raptor trapped, shoot it with Tranq Arrows until it goes unconscious and then put any type of Meat in its inventory to start the taming process. Prime Meat is the best and the easiest way to get this done without losing too much effectiveness, but you can also do it with regular meat.
Remove all barriers and survivors leave.

The Raptor is a small and fast land dinosaur which is very deadly, especially to those who are traveling without tames. What the raptor lacks in size, it makes up when it is with its own kind since Raptors work together to take down their targets and can cause a lot of damage when taken lightly. Survivors that approach the Raptor will come fast to face with this aggressive dinosaur as the moment that it sees you it will charge towards you and attempt to pounce and kill you.
