Prison break episode 9 season 5
Prison Break 's much-vaunted revival might have struggled to totally recapture the show of yesteryear, but given the obstacles it was up against — a tight schedule, cast availability — it's had a decent, engaging stab at it. One thing the series has certainly not lost in its eight years off the air is a penchant for the ridiculous. If anything, it's taken things one step further, and if you thought you knew the limits of how far Prison Break will go, think again — 'Behind the Eyes' reaches new heights or is that new lows? A lot — and we mean a lot — of 'Behind the Eyes' involves these two facing off, puffing out their chests and exchanging one-liners in a macho game of one-upmanship. It would all be a little dull — especially when, for all their intellectual posturing, these two intellectual heavyweights end up scrapping like schoolboys — except for two of the most audacious twists Prison Break has ever pulled. The first is arguably the more ludicrous of the two, though there's not much in it: Michael infiltrates Poseidon's HQ at the University of Ithaca, which requires facial recognition, by way of his body ink. Get this: he has Ness's image tattooed over both of his hands and holds them in front of his own face like a mask. So many questions, but let's start with two. Surely Michael's sleight of hand wouldn't actually fool advanced software? And why did Ness, who was Scofield's handler for years, never notice his own face tattooed on Michael's hands? You'll still be reeling from this bit of lunacy when, after one last face-off with Poseidon goes awry, Michael attempts to flee and is apparently gunned down by his nemesis, unleashing the finale's second big bit of misdirection. Michael has actually led Jacob into a trap, an exact recreation of the surroundings where the CIA's deputy director Harlan Gaines was killed knocked together by an old ally of Scofield's, who's an expert in model work — obvs. Michael — who had disguised himself as Gaines shortly beforehand — now has photographic evidence of Ness apparently shooting Gaines. He's "re-framed" Jacob for the crime he actually committed, but framed Michael for. It's a ruse so outrageous, so ridiculous, only this show could get away with it.

The two would do anything for each other and the lengths Michael went to in order to save his brother proved how strong that relationship was. The biggest problem with the finale is that relationship is barely on display. Michael and Lincoln barely share any scenes together. Sure, Lincoln saves Sara and Mike, but we want to see the brothers work together.

After rushing Lincoln to the hospital, Michael and Sara regroup with Whip and his dad! Having already introduced some suspicions about the man claiming to be Michael Scofield, Jacob puts the phone on speaker, so Mikey can hear the threats. Inside, Michael rounds up enough evidence to send his nemesis away forever, he tells Jacob over the phone. Michael leads Jacob on a chase through shadows, but is ultimately felled by his own gun, which Jacob took earlier. But something is odd about this whole denouement, including how Michael stopped to slip on a coat, and the snowy ground onto which he collapsed. Heck, the CIA even wants to offer a job to Michael, a man with such a particular skill set. Michael defers, but asks for one favor….
